Adopt a dog with special needs
Here you can find all the necessary information to adopt one of the dogs from our Big Love program. How to do it, what requirements must be met, what to consider, etc.
Based on experience, every furry friend in this section has a lower chance of being adopted, either due to their advanced age, physical condition, etc.
Therefore, we propose a deal: if you give these angels a chance, we'll cover the initial adoption costs (microchip, spaying/neutering, etc.).

Mosset came to the shelter as a puppy found alone on the street. At the shelter he has always been very funny with all the volunteers and puppies. Soon after, he was diagnosed with megaesophagus. This disease is not a problem beyond placing the bowl of food and water at head height to avoid poor digestion.
Mosset is a fantastic young dog that we don't want him to lose the opportunity to be adopted due to his medical history, which is why we have included him in the Big Love program. Do you dare to adopt it?

This affectionate little dog was found wandering completely alone with a striking complication. Peter suffers from severe arthritis that prevents him from moving his left hind leg correctly, probably due to a lack of treatment or mistreatment of some trauma he suffered in the past. Nonetheless, Peter has managed to overcome his mobility problem, as he is currently able to move completely autonomously and quite actively. That is why we think Peter has had this problem in his leg for quite some time, and over the years, he has managed to overcome the problem and lead a perfectly normal life. He is a very active dog who loves to go for walks. In addition, he is very affectionate and gets along very well with people and other dogs. Now, what he needs is to find someone to play and go for walks with, as he loves to do.
Dear Three Wise Men,
I’m Peter. This year, I’d like to ask you for some snacks with chondroprotectors. I’ve been told they’re great for taking care of my joints, and I also know they’ll be delicious.
I promise I’ll enjoy them a lot, and they’ll help me feel better so I can keep playing and moving with joy.
Thank you for thinking of all of us.
With love,
Peter

Sponsoring a dog can be a very rewarding experience for people who want to establish a closer bond with a dog, become involved in their shelter journey, and stay updated on their adoption. Additionally, you'll be supporting a shelter that works to provide a safe and loving place for dogs in need.
BIG-LOVE PROGRAM
Every dog with this identifier is part of a program that offers advantages when adopting this furry friend. More information by pressing the identifier 'BIG LOVE'.
IN TEMPORARY FOSTER, IN INDEFINITE FOSTERING
Every dog with this identifier is currently in a foster home and is not at our facilities. However, they are seeking a family willing to adopt them. Could that be you?
IN ADOPTION PROCESS
Every dog with this identifier is currently in an adoption process, meaning they are being evaluated for compatibility with their new family. There's a possibility that they may return to our facilities, but we advise not considering them when looking for your future new family member.
URGENT
Every dog with this identifier is currently in urgent need of a foster home.
ADOPTION PROCESS
First, the pre-adoption form must be filled out.
Our goal will always be to ensure the best possible future for the animal. Therefore, the vedama team will review the form and, if deemed suitable, we will contact you to schedule an appointment to visit the shelter.
At the shelter, once everything is clear, you would take the dog in temporary foster care for 15 days. This foster care is necessary, as during these 15 days, the animal may not adapt to your lifestyle.
If the foster care is satisfactory, the adoption would be formalized. Adoption is free, but at the time of formalizing it, you'll need to cover the initial veterinary costs, which include microchipping and passport, rabies vaccination, and spaying/neutering.
